The German Ski Association (DSV) started the new season with Audi. At the Audi Sportpark and the Audi driving experience center, the athletes were kitted out for the world championship winter and received their new official cars. Viktoria Rebensburg and Severin Freund received insight into the brand’s innovative technologies during a demonstration of piloted driving on autobahn A9.
Be it the Audi A4, A5, A6 or SQ5 – there is one thing all of the models selected by the athletes have in common: They are equipped with permanent quattro four-wheel drive and, as a result, take their drivers to the destinations of their winter tour with equal safety and sportiness. The Audi A6 Avant* and the Audi A4 Avant*, each using a 3.0-liter TDI engine, are the athletes’ favorites. Slalom ace Felix Neureuther prefers an even sportier model, now driving an Audi S7 Sportback*. In total, Audi provides the association with some 100 cars.

Combination Olympic gold medalist Eric Frenzel, two-time biathlon world champion Laura Dahlmeier, multiple ski jumping world champion Severin Freund and giant slalom Olympic gold medalist Viktoria Rebensburg received exclusive insight into piloted driving on the handling course in Neuburg and the nearby autobahn A9. On the circuit in Neuburg, a piloted Audi RS 7 demonstrated safe performance at the physical limits. And in the Audi A7 piloted driving concept technology demonstrator – called “Jack” – the winter athletes experienced piloted driving life.

Next weekend, the Audi FIS Ski World Cup will start in Sölden. The pinnacle event of the alpine season will be the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships to be held in St. Moritz in February. Audi supports the competitions as presenting sponsor.
