German motoring organization ADAC has awarded the Audi A3 the “Gelber Engel” in the “Quality” category. The compact model fought off competition from 52 models from 28 other brands.
The ADAC chose the Audi A3 out of 52 models as the winner of the “Gelber Engel” award in the “Quality” category in 2013. The results are based on ADAC breakdown statistics, the ADAC customer barometer (online), and the motoring organization’s service satisfaction survey.
Werner Zimmermann, Head of Quality Assurance at Audi, collected the award today in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche at the Residenz in Munich: “The A3 broke new ground in 1996 by establishing the premium compact-class segment and has continued to set the benchmark in terms of quality and reliability ever since. We are very confident that we will also be able to maintain the outstanding level of quality with the third generation of the model.”
The Audi A6 also found favor among readers, taking second spot in the quality ranking, while the Audi A4 garnered fifth place.
The “Gelber Engel” is now in its ninth year and ranks among the most coveted auto industry awards. It is awarded in the five categories: Quality, Car, Innovation and Environment, Future, and Personality.
