It has become a tradition for the SEMA to open the trade-fair marathon, taking place at the
end of every year. With its exotic exhibits, the largest trade show for customised cars attracts tuning-oriented visitors to Las Vegas from all over the North American continent. The unwaning success of the SEMA also ensures that German customisers exhibit their
automobiles in the gambling Mecca. For the first time in the USA, ABT Sportsline is
presenting the ABT R8 GTR, its fastest and most exclusive model. 620 HP (456 kW),
consistently optimised for weight reduction. Visitors were totally enthralled with the
unparalleled Bavarian super sports car.
Hans-Jürgen Abt personally introduced the “racer” to invited guests on the stand of ABT
partner GGI European Tuning. „We’re seeing a clear regeneration of the customised car
sector since the slump in the US market. That’s why we’re doing our utmost this year to
support our partner GGI by taking our absolute highlight, the R8 GTR, from Kempten to
Las Vegas“, explained Thomas Biermaier, Export Manager at ABT Sportsline.
In addition to the super sports car, GGI is presenting two ABT bestsellers at the SEMA:
the ABT Q5 and the ABT A5. Hans-Jürgen Abt explains his selection: “These vehicles
have become the most popular AUDI models in the USA. They also enjoy top ranking in the
ABT Sportsline product portfolio.” The ABT CEO is calling the trade-fair presentation a
success for the long-established German company, and the huge audience response is
proving him right.
