Audi taking part in “Schaufenster Elektromobilität” with A1 e-tron

The prime ministers of Bavaria and Saxony, together with Audi and their other industry partners, today presented their application for the federally funded “Schaufenster Elektromobilität” project.

The aim is for various regional pilot electric mobility projects to showcase Germany’s technological expertise to an international audience. The German federal government is providing EUR 180 million in funding, with additional funds to come from the states, municipalities and project partners in business and academia.

Bavarian prime minister Horst Seehofer was able to get a first-hand impression of the advantages of the Audi A1 e-tron during the drive to the press conference at Prinz-Carl-Palais in Munich. 20 of these electric cars, which feature a range extender, are currently undergoing fleet testing under everyday conditions in the Munich pilot region.
