Italian Lamborghini fans will have the opportunity to see the iconic brand’s one-make racing series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, in action following a new television deal.
An agreement has been reached to broadcast five 40-minute races throughout the remainder of the season, with the third race from each event televised live on ClassTv Msnbc. Coverage of the series will begin ten minutes before the start of the race, with commentary by Maurizio Toma.
The TV coverage will begin on Sunday 5 June 2011 when the series travels to the newly-refurbished Silverstone Circuit, UK, for its second event of the season.
Now in its third year, Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is contested in a derivative of Lamborghini’s most successful model, the Gallardo LP 560-4. The Super Trofeo race car is equipped with four-wheel drive and gives professional and ‘gentlemen’ drivers the opportunity to experience 570hp on the race track.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer Lamborghini fans the chance to see fantastic racing between our highly-competitive drivers,” said Maurizio Reggiani, Automobili Lamborghini Director of Research and Development, and responsible for motorsport. “Interest in the series continues to grow and we are glad that those unable to attend the races can get involved with what is set to be a very closely contested season.”
The television coverage will continue for the remainder of 2011, with the time of each broadcast to be confirmed.
